About the Role
Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with BAE Systems—a global leader in aerospace, defence, and security—to recruit an enthusiastic and driven Undergraduate Electronic Systems Software Engineer in Rochester.
As part of the world-leading Electronic Systems team, you will contribute to world-leading controls and display solutions with a 70-year heritage of excellence, including the Striker II Helmet, active control sticks, and flight control computers. This 12-month placement offers an exceptional opportunity to work alongside electronic and systems engineers, helping develop complex safety-critical software for real-world systems.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
Software Development: Contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of safety-critical software solutions across the full product lifecycle.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Test, debug, and improve software reliability, supporting integration, release, and maintenance activities.
Engineering Documentation: Produce clear technical documentation, briefing notes, reports, and presentation materials.
Collaborative Problem Solving: Work with multidisciplinary teams to understand requirements, analyze project costs, schedules, and risks, and contribute to local STEM initiatives.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
Academic Background: On track to obtain at least a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree (or a pass at Master’s level) in any STEM subject.
Working Arrangement: Willingness and capability to work on-site in Rochester 3 to 5 days per week.
Security Clearance: All applicants must achieve, as a minimum, the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Note: Due to security and export control restrictions, candidates must meet specific national identity, birthplace, and residency criteria.
