We are currently seeking a dedicated Housing Officer for the Asylum Accommodation and Support Services Contract (AASC) in Nottingham East.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in assisting vulnerable asylum seekers through the asylum system, ensuring they have access to vital support and a high standard of safe, compliant accommodation.

What You’ll Do

As a Housing Officer, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Service User Support & Inductions: Deliver core support services, provide comprehensive inductions for new arrivals, and manage requests or incidents raised through AIRE services.

• Property Standards & Inspections: Conduct regular monthly property and facility inspections within initial accommodation (IA) to ensure contractual requirements and safety standards are met.

• Maintenance & Operations: Oversee day-to-day site operations, manage supplier/visitor access, coordinate first-fix or minor repairs, and monitor building safety (including CCTV, patrols, and fire testing).

• Safeguarding & Welfare: Prioritize the safety and welfare of service users by conducting welfare checks, managing anti-social behaviour, and following robust safeguarding procedures.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: Strong background working in a service environment with demonstrable, high-level communication skills, alongside property-related environment experience.

• Core Skills: Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, IT literacy (MS Word, Excel), and the ability to manage conflict professionally.

• Licence & Travel: A valid UK driving licence is required (a company car is provided).

• Desirable Traits: Previous maintenance knowledge, safeguarding experience, or background in a security-related role.
