About the Role
Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to be recruiting on behalf of Serco Leisure and Birmingham Community Leisure Trust for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Duty Manager.
Based at Ladywood Leisure Centre, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, effective, and welcoming operation of the facility. Leading operational colleagues across a range of activities, you will help create positive experiences for customers while championing a culture of safety, trust, and continuous improvement. Your work has purpose—helping people of all ages stay active, healthy, and connected while making a positive impact on the community.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Operations: Manage the day-to-day running of the centre, ensuring all activities are delivered safely and to a consistently high standard.
Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and support operational staff, ensuring effective deployment across daily programmes.
Monitoring & Response: Continuously monitor the facility throughout the day, responding proactively to operational, customer service, and safety requirements.
Emergency Management: Take calm, confident control of incidents, accidents, and emergency situations, ensuring appropriate procedures are strictly followed.
Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain full compliance with health and safety legislation, site procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
Service Standards: Support exceptional customer experiences by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service across the centre.
What You’ll Need
Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a leisure, hospitality, sport, or customer-focused environment.
Leadership & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, guide, and develop colleagues.
Calm Under Pressure: A calm, confident approach when managing challenging situations and emergencies.
Safety Awareness: A solid understanding of health and safety responsibilities and regulatory compliance.
Organisation: Highly organised and proactive with excellent time management skills.
