About the Role

We are recruiting a permanent, full-time Peripatetic Care Assistant to provide vital overnight care support across a cluster of Barchester care homes within a 20-mile radius of Lawton Rise Care Home in Stoke on Trent.

In this varied regional role, you will travel to different care homes to provide essential night-shift cover, maintaining high care standards wherever you are needed. Working 36 hours per week on night shifts, you will monitor care delivery, contribute to care plans, record clinical observations (such as blood pressure and temperature), and ensure every resident receives meaningful one-to-one attention and compassionate night-time support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver warm, person-centred care and night-time support across a group of regional care homes within a 20-mile radius.

• Record basic health observations (temperature, blood pressure, fluid balance) and update resident care plans.

• Monitor care delivery on duty, ensuring high standards, safety, and resident dignity are upheld.

• Offer reassuring companionship and dedicated one-to-one care during overnight shifts.

• Adapt quickly to different care home environments and collaborate effectively with local care teams.

About You

To join us as a Peripatetic Care Assistant, you will bring:

• Proven experience in care with a strong understanding of elderly care practices.

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent qualification) is highly desirable.

• A valid driver's license and access to your own vehicle (essential for traveling up to a 20-mile radius).

• Strong communication skills (GCSE C/4+ in English and Maths preferred).

• A flexible, adaptable, and dedicated approach suited to regional mobile working on night shifts.
