We are seeking an experienced, autonomous, and high-calibre Registrar-Level Resident Doctor (ST3+) in General Surgery to join our renowned surgical team. In this pivotal role, you will take charge of day-to-day general surgical inpatient management, provide expert post-operative care, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams in a premier private healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide daily ward rounds, ongoing clinical management, and post-operative assessment for general surgical patients.
Respond promptly to deteriorating patients, ensuring safe clinical escalation and out-of-hours/on-call cover as required.
Perform and supervise routine ward-based procedures appropriate to your grade (e.g., wound care, drains, line insertions).
Coordinate diagnostic investigations, imaging, and specialist referrals while maintaining meticulous clinical documentation.
Uphold Cromwell Hospital's rigorous standards for patient safety, clinical governance, and multidisciplinary excellence.
MBBS or equivalent medical qualification, with full GMC registration and a licence to practise.
Operating at ST3 level or above (or equivalent international experience) with a minimum of 3–4 years of postgraduate surgical experience.
Holding the MRCS examination (or equivalent postgraduate surgical qualification) and ALS certification.
Demonstrated competence in general surgery inpatient care, strong clinical decision-making, and exceptional communication skills.
Desirable: Previous experience in UK independent/private healthcare, CCrISP course completion, or exposure to subspecialties like colorectal, upper GI, or minimally invasive surgery.
