Position: Quality Monitor - Nights (with Machine Minder training)
Location: Northampton (Unit ABC – operating across a 5-unit campus with around 2,000 colleagues as the sole supplier of sandwiches, wraps, rolls, and sushi for Marks & Spencer)
Pay Rate: £16.14 per hour
Job Type: Permanent - Full-Time
Shift Pattern: Sunday to Thursday, 22:00 – 06:30 (Note: Sunday shift starts Saturday night at 22:00)

As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are proud to partner with Greencore (following their combination with Bakkavor) to find dedicated technical and quality assurance talent. Greencore is one of the UK’s leading convenience food creators, employing over 28,000 colleagues across 36 manufacturing sites and 21 distribution depots.
At their flagship Northampton facility, we are currently seeking a detail-oriented and vigilant Quality Monitor for the night shift to ensure that all products are manufactured to the highest standards of safety, legality, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Quality & Safety Checks: Perform scheduled quality and food safety checks (every 30 mins / hour) and escalate any concerns immediately to the Team Leader.
Testing & Sampling: Collect relevant samples following strict protocols; sample, test, audit, and monitor processes to verify safe and compliant manufacturing.
Visual Standards & Trials: Ensure correct visual standards are displayed on production lines and participate in product trials, pre-launches, and pro-launches.
Compliance & Cross-Training: Follow all risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), and undertake additional cross-training to become a trained Machine Minder.
What We Are Looking For
Education & Skills: GCSE standard (or equivalent) in Literacy and Numeracy, high attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safe working practices.
Knowledge: Familiarity with Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, CCP training/HACCP principles, Allergen Awareness, and Microbiological Awareness. Previous FMCG or warehouse experience is advantageous.
