About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Bank Chef for flexible day placements in Stockport, Cheshire.
In this role, you will work with fresh, seasonal produce to deliver hotel- and restaurant-standard dining for care home residents. Working alongside or stepping in for the Head Chef, you will assist in preparing wholesome, nutritious, and beautifully presented dishes tailored to individual dietary needs and resident preferences.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting in leading and managing kitchen operations in the Head Chef’s absence.
Preparing high-quality, nutritious meals using fresh, seasonal ingredients within set budgets.
Helping manage stock control, complete regular kitchen audits, and maintain full HACCP compliance.
Interacting warmly with residents to tailor menus around their individual tastes and nutritional needs.
Providing flexible cover for planned or unplanned staff absences on day shifts.
About You
Qualifications: City & Guilds / NVQ / SVQ or equivalent in Catering/Culinary Arts (required).
Experience: Proven experience working with fresh seasonal food, managing kitchen stock, and assisting in leading a kitchen team.
Knowledge: Solid understanding of nutrition, dietary requirements, and HACCP standards.
