The role of a chef/cook with us is more than just cooking. You will be working with our care team to provide a high quality of life for those who need it. In addition to our British residents, we cater to a vibrant multicultural community—including Caribbean, Guyanese, Jamaican, Trinidadian, African (including West African), Asian, and European backgrounds. We are looking for someone with experience and understanding of a variety of cuisines that reflect these cultural needs.
Where You’ll Be Working: Tower Bridge Care Home in London (a CQC-regulated care home).
Working Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Menu Planning: Collaborate with the home manager and residents to develop and implement exciting menu ideas, including themed days and events to showcase your creativity.
Cultural & Dietary Needs: Prepare authentic dishes for a diverse, multicultural resident community, and ensure specialized nutritional requirements (like modified textures and allergies) are met.
Kitchen Management: Act as the main point of contact for the kitchen, managing day-to-day stock control and upholding the highest hygiene standards.
A background working within professional kitchens and a strong understanding of how to run one.
Experience and understanding of preparing a variety of international and multicultural cuisines.
Knowledge of the IDDSI framework or complex dietary needs (desirable).
A minimum of 12 months on your legal right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available).
Pay Rate: £16.15 per hour with On-Demand Pay options.
