ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Bank Chef at Barchester Healthcare’s Sherwood Lodge Care Home, you will work on a casual, flexible basis to deliver hotel- and restaurant-quality dining experiences to residents. Working alongside or stepping in for the Head Chef, you will help craft wholesome, nutritious, and flavoursome meals tailored to person-centred resident dietary preferences.
Core Responsibilities:
Kitchen Leadership: Assist in managing kitchen operations, leading staff, and maintaining standards in the Head Chef’s absence.
Culinary Quality: Cook wholesome, high-quality dishes using fresh, seasonal produce cooked to the highest standards.
Operations & Compliance: Assist with stock control, regular audits, working within budget, and maintaining strict HACCP standards.
Warm Atmosphere: Help foster an efficient, warm, welcoming, and fun environment for both staff and residents.

Requirements & Qualifications:
Qualifications: City & Guilds / NVQ / SVQ or equivalent catering qualification.
Food & Nutrition Expertise: Experience working with fresh seasonal produce and a strong understanding of nutrition and HACCP standards.
Team Skills: Experience assisting in leading, inspiring, and motivating a kitchen team.
Resident-Centred Mindset: A personable, warm approach with a dedication to person-centred hospitality.
