About the Role
As a Bank Chef at West Abbey Care Centre, you will deliver hotel and restaurant standards of catering without the split shifts and long working weeks, allowing for a fantastic work-life balance.
Working alongside the Head Chef, you will help create nutritious, flavoursome, and well-balanced menus tailored directly to our residents' preferences. You will use fresh seasonal ingredients to produce wholesome, high-quality dishes while helping manage the kitchen and inspire the catering team.
Key Responsibilities
Help manage kitchen operations in the Head Chef’s absence.
Prepare and cook high-quality, wholesome dishes using fresh, seasonal produce.
Assist in leading, motivating, and inspiring the kitchen team.
Support stock control, kitchen budgeting, and regular compliance audits.
Ensure strict adherence to HACCP guidelines, food hygiene, and safety standards.
Engage with residents to tailor menus and ensure an exceptional dining experience.
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications: Hold City & Guilds / NVQ / SVQ or equivalent catering qualifications.
Experience: Proven experience working with fresh seasonal food and helping lead/inspire a kitchen team.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of HACCP and nutritional standards for older people.
