Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Five Rivers Child Care Ltd to recruit a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for Clannad School in Orpington. This is a newly created, key role where you will work closely with teachers and our wider multi-disciplinary team under the leadership of Headteacher Utibe-Abasi Umoren to deliver engaging, personalized learning sessions.
Operating within a trauma-informed framework, you will support children and young people who face barriers to mainstream education. Your compassionate, flexible approach will be vital in helping learners build confidence, re-engage with education, and achieve their individual potential within a safe, nurturing environment.
Learning Support: Support and deliver high-quality learning sessions, helping to adapt approaches to meet individual pupil needs.
Curriculum Delivery: Contribute to a broad and flexible curriculum encompassing academic, vocational, and therapeutic elements.
Therapeutic Environment: Foster a safe, nurturing classroom atmosphere focused on emotional regulation, effective listening, and de-escalation.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively within a skilled multi-disciplinary team to provide consistent, child-centred support that helps young people thrive.
Skills & Abilities: Strong written and verbal communication skills, good IT and organizational abilities, and effective listening and de-escalation skills.
Approach: Confidence working with children, families, and professionals, combined with resilience, compassion, and a genuine passion for supporting young people. (Experience in specialist or alternative education is advantageous, though transferable skills are warmly welcomed.)
