Endoscopy Healthcare Assistant Band 3

Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is pleased to assist our valued client in recruiting an enthusiastic Endoscopy Healthcare Assistant (Band 3) to join their team in Reading, UK. Based in a state-of-the-art, JAG-accredited Endoscopy Unit with 5 procedure rooms at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, this fixed-term position (20 months) offers an excellent opportunity to deliver patient-focused support in a dynamic environment.

In this part-time role working 18.75 hours per week, you will work alongside Registered Nurses to provide compassionate personal care to patients, support clinical procedure rooms, manage unit stock, and assist with the handling and distribution of endoscopes. You will play a vital role in ensuring procedure rooms are fully prepared and that high standards of infection control and safety are maintained.

Role Description

As a Band 3 Endoscopy Healthcare Assistant, you will provide clinical and administrative support during endoscopic procedures, deliver direct personal care to patients, and maintain unit cleanliness and equipment readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Registered Nurses and clinical staff during endoscopic procedures, setting up equipment, procedure rooms, and consumables.

• Deliver compassionate personal care to patients before, during, and after procedures, including recovery areas.

• Manage stock levels, maintain unit cleanliness, and handle the preparation, clearing, and distribution of endoscopes.

Requirements

• Completion of the Care Certificate with proven experience delivering personal care to patients in a healthcare setting.

• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills with a willingness to learn specialized endoscopy procedures.

• Previous hospital or care support work experience (NVQ in Care Support Work is desirable).
