## About the Role & Multi-Disciplinary Leadership

The Therapeutic Pastoral Lead is a pivotal senior post sitting firmly within the school’s Local Leadership Team. Co-managed by Regional SENCOs and the Therapeutic Development Manager, you will work holistically to weave trauma-informed care directly into the school's fabric.

You will receive advanced, ongoing training in our pioneering Assessing and Healing Childhood Trauma (AHCT) framework. In turn, you will act as a key advocate and educator, role-modeling best practices and ensuring all teaching staff fully understand how to emotionally support the students in our care.

Your Core Responsibilities:

Therapeutic Interventions: Run meaningful, creative intervention groups with young people to build socio-emotional resilience, SMSC awareness, and personal development.
Holistic Assessment: Monitor, track, and report on the overall holistic progress and personal development metrics of students.
De-escalation & Reassurance: Serve as a calm, sensitive presence during times of high student dysregulation, applying proven theoretical frameworks for de-escalation.
Strategic Compliance: Jointly oversee the SMSC and Personal Development parameters of the Ofsted Inspection Framework and Independent School Standards. Contribute directly to the School Improvement Plan (SIP).
Uncompromising Safeguarding: Hold ultimate daily accountability for ensuring safeguarding policies are stringently adhered to.

## Who We Are Looking For (Candidate Profile)

We are seeking an experienced care or education professional with a deep understanding of attachment theories and trauma.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

Proven experience working at a leadership or senior pastoral level within an SEMH/SEND educational environment or specialized social care setting.
In-depth, practical knowledge of de-escalation frameworks and therapeutic intervention techniques.
Strong capabilities in assessment writing, progress tracking, and report presentation.
An unflappable, calm, and deeply sensitive communication style.
