Monzo is hiring a Staff Backend Engineer (level L60) to work in a product squad alongside product managers, designers, researchers, analysts and other engineers. You can be based in London or work remotely across the UK. Monzo is also hiring at L40 and L50, and the interview decides your level.
What you will do:
- Build and support part of the Monzo banking product
- Work across disciplines to test ideas and improve things for customers
- Use a stack including Go, Cassandra, Kafka, Envoy, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS and React
What they ask for:
- Strong experience on the backend of a technology product
- A product mindset and data-informed decision making
- Interest in distributed systems and resilient software
- Some experience with strongly typed languages such as Go, Java, C or Scala
Pay stated by the employer: £130,000 to £170,000 plus equity and benefits, with relocation help and flexible working hours.
