Supportive Bridge Staffing is recruiting a Trainee Physics Teacher on behalf of Lift Kingswood in Hull. Delivered in partnership with Ark Teacher Training, this school-based Initial Teacher Training (ITT) Tuition Fee-paying route provides a structured, direct path to achieving Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
You will gain hands-on classroom experience in an Outstanding secondary school setting, putting pedagogical theory into practice alongside dedicated 1-on-1 mentoring, targeted weekly training sessions, and an intensive two-week Summer School to prepare you for the teaching year ahead.
Generous Financial Support: Eligible trainees can access a tax-free bursary of £29,000 or a £31,000 scholarship to support living costs during training (tuition fee: £9,790).
Practical Classroom Focus: Build your teaching confidence directly in the classroom with structured, gradual escalation of teaching responsibility.
1-on-1 Mentoring & Coaching: Work closely with a dedicated subject tutor and in-school mentor for continuous guidance, feedback, and career support.
Targeted Weekly Training: Spend half a day every week participating in dedicated training sessions alongside peers across the Ark Teacher Training and Lift Schools networks.
Mandatory Summer School: A two-week preparatory course (2–13 August 2027) establishing core fundamentals in educational theory, lesson planning, and behaviour management.
Degree: Undergraduate degree with a 2:2 classification or above (or equivalent) by the start of the programme. A degree in Physics (or a related field) is preferred; alternatively, a strong A-Level in Physics (Grade C or above) will be considered.
GCSEs: Grade 4/C or above in GCSE English & Mathematics (or equivalent).
QTS & Residency: Must not currently hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Must hold full Right to Live and Work in the UK for the duration of the training year.
