Location: Northampton (Operating across a campus of 5 manufacturing units with a team of around 2,000 colleagues as the sole supplier of sandwiches, wraps, rolls, and sushi for Marks & Spencer)
Pay Rate: £17.29 per hour
Job Type: Permanent - Full-Time
Shift Pattern: Thursday to Monday, 22:00 – 06:30

As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are proud to partner with Greencore (following their combination with Bakkavor) to find dedicated logistics and warehouse talent. Greencore is one of the UK’s leading convenience food creators, employing over 28,000 colleagues across 36 manufacturing sites and 21 distribution depots.
At their flagship Northampton facility, we are currently seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Fridge Porter for the night shift to play a key role within their Nut Pod preparation and chilled storage areas, ensuring materials are handled to the highest quality and food safety standards. (Note: This role involves working with nuts and nut-based ingredients and may not be suitable for individuals with nut allergies.)
Key Responsibilities
Material Supply & Scanning: Supply production lines with the correct materials, ensuring accurate scanning and on-time delivery in full.
Allergen & Stock Management: Strictly follow allergen segregation procedures, manage stock (including near-expiry items, concessions, disposals, and waste), and maintain standards in chilled storage and prep zones.
Checks & Documentation: Complete all pre-start checks and required documentation accurately, carrying out quality and food safety checks while escalating issues to the Line Coordinator promptly.
What We Are Looking For
While full training is provided, we are looking for candidates with:
Core Skills: Strong numeracy and literacy skills, effective verbal and written communication, and high attention to detail.
Experience: Previous experience in a food manufacturing, FMCG, or warehouse environment is advantageous.
Attributes: Solid understanding of food hygiene and safety standards, the ability to work under pressure independently or as part of a team, and a positive, reliable work ethic.
