As the Head of Maintenance at Wakehurst Hall, you will ensure the home provides a clean, safe, and impeccably maintained environment where residents feel truly at home and staff can deliver first-class care.
Offering plenty of variety, your day-to-day responsibilities will span across building repairs, grounds upkeep, and garden maintenance. You will work independently as well as lead a team, support the General Manager with annual budget planning, and liaise closely with external contractors when specialized work is required—all while maintaining the utmost sensitivity to resident wellbeing.
Oversee and manage comprehensive property maintenance, repairs, and grounds upkeep across the home.
Ensure all internal and external facilities meet strict safety, compliance, and aesthetic standards.
Lead, mentor, and coordinate maintenance tasks while supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning.
Liaise professionally with external contractors for specialized maintenance and repairs.
Carry out all work with sensitivity, dignity, and respect for the residents' living environment.
Experience: Hands-on experience in property maintenance with at least one core trade skill and a proven ability across varied maintenance tasks.
Qualifications & Requirements: Full UK driving licence, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).
