Registered Nurse - CCU RLI Band 5

Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is delighted to assist our valued client in recruiting a dedicated Band 5 Registered Nurse to join the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) team at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary in Lancaster, UK. Situated within an established NHS Foundation Trust, this role offers an exciting opportunity for a post-registration nurse to deliver specialized clinical care within an acute cardiac setting.

In this full-time role involving internal rotation onto night shifts (37.5 hours per week), you will care for patients with a wide variety of acute cardiac conditions. You will work within a supportive multidisciplinary environment that regularly performs specialized procedures such as temporary pacing wire insertion, trans-oesophageal echoes, pericardiocentesis, cardioversions, and non-invasive ventilation (CPAP and High Flow Nasal oxygen).

Role Description

As a Band 5 Registered Nurse on the Cardiac Care Unit, you will assess, plan, and deliver high-standard cardiac nursing care to acute patients while supporting clinical quality improvement and team development.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based, specialized clinical care to patients presenting with acute cardiac conditions and requiring complex interventions.

• Perform continuous patient monitoring, clinical assessments, and assist with specialized procedures within the CCU environment.

• Prioritize and delegate workloads effectively, maintaining strong multidisciplinary communication and upholding clinical care standards.

Requirements

• Active 1st level registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Nurse with post-registration experience within the specialty.

• Relevant clinical qualifications and assessor/mentorship experience (ILS, ALS, or AIMs certification strongly preferred).

• Proven clinical competence in acute cardiac care, strong leadership potential, and excellent time management skills.
