As a Bank Chef at Barchester Healthcare, you will enjoy hotel- and restaurant-standard culinary work without the exhausting split shifts and long weekly hours. You will assist the Head Chef in crafting nutritious, flavoursome, and well-balanced menus, working directly with residents to tailor meals around their preferences. Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Management: Help manage the kitchen efficiently in the Head Chef’s absence.
Culinary Excellence: Work with fresh produce to deliver wholesome, high-quality dishes prepared to the highest standards.
Team Leadership: Assist in leading, inspiring, and motivating the kitchen team.
Operations & Compliance: Manage stock control, complete regular audits, and work effectively within budget while maintaining a warm, efficient, and fun environment.
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications: Hold City & Guilds / NVQ / SVQ or equivalent culinary qualifications.
Experience: Proven experience working with fresh, seasonal food and a good understanding of HACCP.
Skills: Strong knowledge of nutrition and experience helping lead a team.
Personality: A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in resident wellbeing and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere.
