Delivered in partnership with Ark Teacher Training, this 1-year, school-based route lets you earn a full salary while working toward your Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
You will spend the year gaining real classroom experience, putting pedagogical theory into practice, and building your teaching confidence inside a supportive, welcoming school environment.
100% Salaried – No Tuition Fees: Earn £24,444 while you train, with full coverage of your training fees.
Hands-on Classroom Experience: Teach as an unqualified Chemistry teacher from day one, gradually taking on more independent responsibility.
1-on-1 Guidance: Continuous support from a dedicated in-school coach and personal subject tutor.
Weekly Dedicated Training: Spend half a day each week in training alongside a collaborative cohort of fellow trainees across the Ark Teacher Training and Lift Schools networks.
Comprehensive Summer School: Kick off your journey with a two-week intensive session (2–13 August 2027) covering lesson planning, behaviour management, and core educational theory.

To qualify for this salaried ITT position, you must meet the following requirements:
Degree: An undergraduate degree (2:2 classification or higher) completed by the start of the programme. A degree in Chemistry or a related field is preferred (or a strong A-Level in Chemistry at Grade C or above).
GCSEs: Grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE English & Mathematics (or equivalent).
Teaching Status: Must not currently hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Work Rights: Right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the training year.
