We are proud to partner with ROC Northwest (part of the CareTech Group) to recruit an experienced, passionate Senior Residential Childcare Worker / Team Leader for their specialised children's home in Preston.

In this vital leadership role, you will be much more than a supervisor—you will shape futures. By guiding a dedicated team of Support Workers and directly mentoring vulnerable young people, you will ensure the home remains a safe, inclusive space where breakthroughs happen daily.

## About the Home: Lavender

Lavender is a beautiful, specially adapted residential home designed to meet the complex needs of children through a holistic, therapeutic framework. The diverse staff team is well-versed in trauma-informed care, ensuring that every child is treated as an individual and inspired to dream big.

A purpose-built sensory room, a home gym, and a dedicated wellbeing suite.
Private en-suite bedrooms for the children alongside welcoming communal spaces.
An active partnership with a local holding farm, giving children the unique opportunity to care for animals, take horse-riding lessons, and walk donkeys.

## Your Key Responsibilities

As a Team Leader, you will balance direct child support with shift leadership responsibilities:

Shift & Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and support a team of Support Workers on shift, ensuring duties are completed to the highest standards and operations run smoothly.
Daily Support: Help young people navigate daily routines, from school preparation and meal times to planning enrichment activities.
Compliance & Reporting: Routinely monitor care plans, produce clear reports for the home management team, and provide timely operational updates.
Digital Administration: Confidently use the Clearcare electronic recording system on a daily basis to accurately document, monitor, and update the children's records.
Homely Environment: Drive a culture of individuality (never a "one size fits all" approach) while helping with light housekeeping to maintain a warm environment.
Shift Flexibility: Cover a varied shift pattern that includes an average of 8 overnight sleep-ins per month.

Requirements:

Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar Senior/Team Leader role within a children's residential care setting.
Qualifications: A confirmed Level 3 or 4 qualification in Children's Residential Care or the Children's Workforce.
Licence: A full, valid UK Manual driving licence is strictly essential.
Leadership Skills: Proven experience supporting and mentoring junior team members.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for report writing and team alignment.
