About the Role
In this high-impact role, you will lead critical areas such as requirements management and the testing and integration of complex external communication equipment into wider submarine combat systems. Working closely with diverse suppliers and customers, you will ensure rigorous design verification, compliance, and seamless technical delivery across maritime defence platforms.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
Capture and agree technical requirements in accordance with company and programme processes.
Generate, configure, and control design documentation and changes within established governance frameworks.
Provide input to Verification Cross-Reference Indexes (VCRI), ITEAP, and qualification plans.
Ensure design proving evidence is comprehensive, captured within IBM DOORS, and endorsed by appropriate authorities.
Support requirements flow-down to suppliers and provide technical oversight for integrated performance, trials, and customer acceptance activities.
What We Are Looking For (Essential Skills & Qualifications):
Domain Expertise: Strong knowledge of external (over-the-air) communications systems in the maritime defence domain, including RF spectrum, data/voice communications, and network architecture.
Operational Background: Practical platform or sea experience in an operational, build, trials, or in-service support environment.
Requirements Management: Proven experience using IBM DOORS for requirements management, verification, and validation activities.
Safety & Compliance: Familiarity with Product Safety, Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) standards, and technical report writing.
Security Note: Due to defense and export control restrictions, all applicants must achieve at least a Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Higher levels of National Security Vetting may apply where required.
