We are excited to represent Avery Healthcare in their search for a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join the award-winning team at Mousehold View Care Home in Norwich.
The Role
Are you passionate about food hygiene, teamwork, and supporting a vibrant care community? As a Kitchen Assistant, your primary focus will be to support the catering function with food preparation and maintain a pristine, safe environment for the production of meals and beverages, ensuring a high-quality and comprehensive service is delivered to residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Applying the principles of safe food handling to ensure all food preparation in the kitchen meets the highest standards of hygiene.
Contributing fully to teamwork, responding positively to colleagues, and actioning all reasonable work instructions promptly.
Advising on the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring the timely and appropriate ordering of replacement goods.
Acting courteously and respectfully toward residents and their visitors, upholding the dignity and individuality of each resident at all times.
About You

Requirements:
Hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrate high standards of personal hygiene.
Strong knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments.
An efficient worker capable of a high level of sustained physical effort and able to respond to a demanding workload.
Initiative, a positive and flexible aptitude for teamwork, and a caring, understanding attitude toward elderly residents.
Requirements for Employment: Proof of eligibility to work in the UK and a DBS Disclosure check (the cost of which is fully covered by Avery Healthcare).
