Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Change Grow Live (CGL) to recruit an inspiring and compassionate Recovery Champion on a 6-month fixed-term contract for their Reading service.
In this powerful outreach role, you will use your lived experience and understanding to help people take their first steps toward recovery, build recovery capital, and achieve long-term, sustained wellbeing. Working across community sites, you will engage individuals who are rough sleeping or at risk of homelessness, deliver 1-1 and group-based support, and act as a positive role model demonstrating that change is possible.
Outreach & Engagement: Engage with individuals who are rough sleeping or at risk of homelessness, connecting them with settled accommodation and integrated support pathways.
Recovery Support & Coaching: Support service users in initiating, building, and utilizing recovery capital through 1-1 interventions, recovery coaching, and group/pod delivery.
Community Links: Promote visible recovery, strengthen partnerships with mutual aid networks, and encourage active service user involvement in shaping service delivery.
Flexible Working: Work flexibly across various local sites, including occasional evening and weekend shifts to meet service user needs.
Lived Experience & Empathy: Strong alignment with the power of recovery, with an authentic ability to understand challenges, recognise barriers, and inspire hope.
Core Competencies: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, proactive attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively across multi-agency partnerships.

Requirements: Must hold the legal Right to Work in the UK (note: this role is subject to an enhanced DBS check).
Annual Leave: 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata), increasing up to 30 days over five years of service.
