About the Role
We are recruiting a permanent Head of Maintenance to oversee building and grounds operations across Mount House & Severn View in Shrewsbury.
In this varied leadership role, you will ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for residents and staff alike. From daily repairs and grounds upkeep to contractor management and budget planning alongside the General Manager, you will play a key role in keeping the home running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain care home facilities, interior/exterior structures, and surrounding gardens/grounds.
Lead the maintenance team and support the General Manager with annual maintenance budget planning.
Oversee third-party contractors for specialist installations and major repairs.
Conduct routine safety audits, compliance checks, and prompt preventative maintenance.
Carry out duties with sensitivity and respect toward residents' daily routines and privacy.
About You
To excel as Head of Maintenance, you will bring:
Proven hands-on experience in property maintenance with at least one core trade skill.
A valid Full UK Driving Licence.
IT literacy and GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication capabilities.
A reliable, flexible, and compassionate approach to working in a residential care setting.
