## Role at a Glance

Location: Sheffield
Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week (includes evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts)
Salary: £12.86 – £13.50 per hour

## The Role: How You Will Make a Difference

As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in providing consistency, stability, and high-quality care. Working alongside a team of professionals, you will help implement individualized care plans tailored to each child's emotional, developmental, and educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Support: Assist children and young people with daily living activities, including personal care, education, and recreational activities.
Emotional Guidance: Encourage positive behavior, offering practical and emotional support to build self-esteem and confidence.
Life Skills & Independence: Help young people develop crucial life skills such as communication, socialization, and independence.
Safeguarding: Actively protect the welfare of the children in your care, ensuring any concerns are reported promptly in line with safeguarding procedures.
Administration: Maintain accurate, daily electronic records and documentation to monitor progress and goals.

## Who We Are Looking For

While previous experience in children's residential care is a plus, it is not essential. We care most about your values, your heart for young people, and your willingness to learn.

Requirements:

A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
An understanding of (or willingness to learn about) child development and emotional/behavioral challenges.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusting, professional relationships.
Driving Licence: Essential for this role.
Digital Literacy: Must be comfortable using electronic care recording systems on a daily basis (experience with Clearcare is a bonus, but full training is provided).
Flexibility: Ability to work a shift pattern that includes evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
